What to expect when attending counselling through a private video session.
Clear information before you begin
Effective 22 July 2026. Please read this page alongside the privacy and appointment terms relevant to your session.
Joining an online session
Join from a quiet, private location using a suitable device and stable connection. Tell the counsellor your current location when requested so that safety planning is appropriate.
Privacy and recording
- Use a personal device and trusted connection where possible
- Keep the session link private
- Use headphones when others may be nearby
- Do not record or photograph a session
- Tell the counsellor if your privacy is interrupted
Technical interruptions
If the connection fails, the counsellor will try to reconnect or contact you through the agreed method. The session may continue another way or be rescheduled depending on the interruption.
