Is counselling confidential?
Yes. Sessions are private and confidential. Limits may apply for immediate serious harm, safeguarding, legal requirements, and ethical supervision; these will be explained before counselling begins.
How long is each session?
Individual sessions are normally 50 minutes. Couples and family sessions are normally 60 minutes.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your concerns, goals and circumstances. The number and frequency will be discussed and reviewed together.
What happens during the first session?
We focus on understanding your concerns, discussing confidentiality and identifying what you hope to gain.
Do you offer online counselling?
Yes. Online sessions are conducted through a secure video platform.
Can I book for another person?
You may enquire on behalf of a family member, but the prospective client should ordinarily agree and speak directly with the counsellor.
Do you prescribe medication?
No. Counselling does not include prescribing medication. You may be encouraged to consult a qualified medical professional where appropriate.
Can counselling replace psychiatric care?
No. Counselling may support emotional wellbeing but does not replace psychiatric or medical care when it is required.
Can sessions be recorded?
Sessions must not be recorded without the explicit written agreement of both client and counsellor.
Do you work with minors?
Nu Nest currently works with adults aged 18 and above. Parents may book a parenting consultation to discuss concerns involving a younger family member.
What if one partner refuses couples counselling?
One partner may still seek individual counselling to understand their concerns, patterns and choices.
Is one session enough?
A single session may clarify a focused issue. Deeper concerns or recurring patterns may require additional sessions.
What is the cancellation policy?
At least 24 hours’ notice is requested for cancellation or rescheduling. Later cancellations may be chargeable.
Is this an emergency service?
No. The practice does not provide emergency or crisis-response services.
